Frequently asked questions
General
Finding the right therapist is important. I offer an initial consultation so you can get a sense of how I work, ask questions, and see whether it feels like a good fit for your needs. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and supported, and I encourage you to trust your sense of whether our work together feels aligned.
I work with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, OCD, relationship difficulties, and intimacy or sexual health concerns. My work often includes supporting clients with racing thoughts, uncertainty, communication challenges, mismatched desire, sexual pain or anxiety around sex, and difficulties feeling emotionally or physically connected. I use evidence-based approaches while tailoring treatment to each person or couple.
Session length depends on the type of work:
• Couples intake sessions: 90 minutes
• Individual intake sessions: 60 minutes
• Standard individual sessions: 45 minutes (some clients choose to meet for the full 60 minutes)
• Standard couples sessions: 60 minutes
This is a common and understandable question. The length of therapy varies from person to person and couple to couple. Some clients come for short-term, focused work, while others benefit from longer-term support. In general, therapy tends to be most effective when there is consistent engagement, openness, and practice between sessions. We regularly check in about goals and progress and adjust the work as needed.
That’s completely okay. Many people begin therapy with a general sense that something feels off, without clear words for it yet. Part of the work is slowing down, getting curious, and collaboratively clarifying what feels most important to focus on. You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting.
Sex therapy is always guided by your comfort level and agency. I follow your lead and respect your boundaries throughout the process. The work is conversational and therapeutic, not explicit or graphic. There is no in-session physical or touch-based work; any exercises or practices are done privately, on your own or with your partner, outside of session.
At this time, all sessions are conducted virtually.
• $325 for a 45-minute session
• $400 for a 60-minute session
Fees are discussed openly during the consultation so there are no surprises.
I do not accept insurance. I am happy to provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Frequency can change over time depending on your goals, progress, and availability, and we revisit this together as therapy unfolds.
